Chairmans Blog 'Now they are calling it a festival'
The sun shone, you came in your thousands and we really partied this year at Party on the Rec 2010 the best yet I think.
Still needs a few tweaks here and there, but it really worked well I would like to thank the great committee without them it could not be put on and a big thank you to our brilliant sponsors this year.
First of all Ian and his team at Signs Direct for giving all our banners and stage drapes a new image,
All the management and staff at RGH for supplying the truck for the stage,
Benson Box for producing our program
All the outlets that sell the lotto and all the people that buy their 50p ticket every week because without it we could not put on POTR.
Things were a little different this year with the access into the bottom field, a bigger fair, car parking and of course the Battle of Britain Spitfire all making the day better.
I would like to give a big thank you to Bert Holland and Son Funfairs because nothing is a problem to them, if they can help or do something for us they will and not forgetting Shane Easom for letting us have the field so we could do all the extra things.
I would like to mention and say thank you to the 17 homes around the village that got involved with our Scarecrow Festival they were fantastic and we will be doing it again next year
What happens now, well this year’s event cost just over £8500 to put on that is all paid for by last year’s fund raising, with admission fees, stall hire donations etc. On the day we raised £6500 that is now in the bank, that’s where you come in, we will be having our AGM on 1st of September at 7.30 in the youth club building and you are invited to attend and get involved ask questions or suggest where we can donate some of the money, it’s your village and your Party on the Rec so get involved.
Fundraising starts again on September 25th with our Grand Casino Royle Night and its not to be missed.
That just leaves me to thank all and every one of you for being involved or coming to POTR
See you soon I hope at one of our fund raisers or buying a lotto ticket
